Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Blue Cottage Consulting is an independent, woman-owned healthcare consulting firm specializing in visioning, strategy, operations, and facility planning (programming, design review, transition and activation planning).

Blue Cottage Consulting is different - we have vision, knowledge, experience, and a point of view. Our professionals have held executive and management positions at some of the best medical centers in the country. Most importantly, we seek projects and clients that want to transform healthcare.

Principal-ly Exceptional Consultant:      

Are you the needle in the haystack?  The outlier?  For the right person, this position is more than a job – it is an amazing opportunity to make a seriously significant impact on healthcare and at Blue Cottage.  To land this job, you need to be absolute tops in the industry; a client service superstar; a healthcare visionary; and the kind of person who loves hospital strategy so much that you think about it 24/7.  You must also have strong business acumen; confidence without conceit; and high intellect that is nicely balanced with the ability to be practical and down-to-earth.  You must have demonstrated abilities in leading, doing, teaching, producing, delivering, and presenting great work in healthcare strategic, operational, and/or facility planning.  Your references will tell us that you are an exemplary team player, a leader, and a change agent.  Also essential:  A relevant master's degree, the ability to light up a room and genuinely engage an audience; a strong desire to drive change; an ability to push through and get it done no matter how big the challenge.  If you are too big for the great job that you have now and you believe you can help take Blue Cottage to the next level by leading a team, creating, and nurturing seriously meaningful and long-term relationships with the best clients in the business, we want to meet you.

Pediatric Clinical Strategist:
With some of the best clients in the industry, we’re looking to add a senior consultant with a rock-solid (and preferable rock star) reputation in pediatrics to the Blue Cottage team.  If you have experience in senior level management or executive leadership in a children’s hospital or department of pediatrics; enjoy thinking about the future of healthcare delivery; and are passionate about working with the best hospitals and healthcare professionals in the world, we want to talk to you.   Must have relevant experience working in a hospital, preferably in an academic medical center environment; have a relevant master's degree; have demonstrated abilities in group facilitation and physician relationships; and have an impressive, established network of relationships with pediatric leaders across the country.  BSNs and advanced practice nurses are especially encouraged to apply.  We often say at Blue Cottage that “we are children’s hospital people." If you understand what that statement means, you should apply. 

Operational Planners and Lean Consultants:  
Must have significant healthcare operations or clinical experience; consulting experience preferred; lean training is a plus. Must be fantastic with process and workflow mapping, including creation of deliverables. Need to be able to DO the work, produce the documents, wow the client (not just be a leader or manager).  
 
Occupancy, Logistics, and Transition Planners:
Must have significant healthcare operations or clinical experience; experience with hospital transition/activation planning is ideal; lean training is a plus. Must be fantastic with process and workflow mapping, including creation of deliverables.  Need to be able to DO the work, produce the documents, wow the client (not just be a leader or manager).

  • Our highest paying positions require that you prove that you can generate work, do the work, lead the work, and wow clients everywhere.
  • We travel a ton. Really, a ton. You have to be able to travel a ton to work here.

We have openings for several positions in the $50-125K range and a few in the really big money range.
